This year Colegio Los Pinos held its Twenty Fifth Annual English Speech Contest, which took place on Wednesday, November 27th. Thirteen schools participated this year and all the students did a brilliant job analyzing the question sent by John Warren from International House: “How does international migration improve cultural understanding between nations?”

The judges, who collaborated with us by sending a topic and evaluating the candidates, were Ms Katerine Zueva from Cambridge University Press, Mr. John Warren and Mr Toby Lodge from International House and Mr. Luis Paredes from Pearson.

The first prize winner was Karen García from Colegio Los Pinos, the second prize went to Manuela María Salguero from Colegio Americano, and Luis Gabriel Pacheco Delgado from Colegio Intisana won the third prize.

As we also wanted to recognize the hard and important job teachers accomplish, a prize was raffled among the teachers from the participating schools.

Raúl Coka Barriga, Altiora Corp, Librería Studium, Pacificard, Compu Supplies and Cambridge University Press were our sponsors who donated motivating prizes for our winners.

We would like to thank Ms. Katerine Zueva, who congratulated Los Pinos on the 25th anniversary of our Annual Speech Contest, and all the students for their great job. Finally, we would like to applaud all the participating schools and their students for their outstanding performances, and say once again that all the participants are winners!
